Fix: AMD Driver Timeout Issue on Windows

Can’t figure out how to fix the AMD Driver Timeout issue on Windows?

One of the most common issues you’ll encounter on an AMD system is the driver timeout error message. This problem has been reported on almost any AMD video card while running various games and programs.

For some users, the game or application they are running crashes, and they are greeted with the driver timeout error. However, some users get stuck on a black screen, and they are forced to restart their systems.

If you are playing an online game, getting this random error message can ruin your gaming experience.

Most of the time, this problem is caused by outdated versions of Windows. However, it can also be due to limited virtual memory, corrupt or incompatible drivers, and wrong configurations in the Radeon Software.

If you are experiencing this issue, we’ve got you covered.

Today, we’ve decided to make a guide on how to fix the AMD Driver Timeout issue on Windows computers.

Let’s get started!

1. Restart Your Computer.

Before taking any advanced measures on your computer, we recommend restarting it first if you encounter issues with your AMD graphics card. This should reload your system resources and eliminate temporary errors that may have occurred during use.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Access the Start Menu by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard.
  2. Next, go to the Power Options tab.
  3. Finally, click on Restart to reboot your system.

See the steps below:

  1. First, access the Start Menu on your computer.
  2. In the search bar, look for Power Options and access it.
  3. Lastly, click on ‘Hide Additional Plans’ and choose the High Performance option.
