If you are facing a similar issue, you’re in the right place.

We looked into this issue and have listed a few easy solutions that can prove useful for you below.

Let’s get started.

1. Edit the System Hosts File.

The Hosts file is an operating system file that connects IP addresses to domain names. There are times when the Hosts files are incorrectly modified, which results in connectivity issues and errors while using programs that require internet access.

If your screen is displaying the ‘An error occurred while trying to copy a file’ error code when you attempt to install Filmora, then the first thing you should do is edit the system Hosts file. If an invalid Hosts file modification is causing the error under consideration on your PC, editing the Hosts file will resolve it.

Here is what you need to do:

  1. Type Notepad in the search bar and click on Run as administrator

2. Remove the Hosts File.

If editing the Hosts file did not work for you and the error persists, then this means that the issue cannot be resolved using the conventional troubleshooting steps. In this case, we encourage you to go ahead and remove the Hosts file from your system.

Don’t worry; the system will create a new Hosts file once you restart your PC, so removing the Hosts file is safe.

Here is what you need to do:

  1. Open a Run dialogue box by pressing Windows + R keys simultaneously.
  2. Type the command mentioned below in the dialogue box and hit Enter
C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc
  1. Now right-click on the Hosts file and select Delete
  2. Once done, restart your PC and try installing Filmora again.

If the Hosts file was causing the issue, removing it will fix the error, and you should now be able to install Filmora without any problems.

3. Try Using CleanMyPC.

Another common reason behind temporary errors such as the Filmora installation error are corrupted system junk files. These files get piled up over time and can not just cause errors but also considerably reduce your PC’s overall performance.

You can resolve this issue by eliminating the unwanted files from your system using a reliable PC cleaner, and if you are struggling to find one, we recommend using CleanMyPC

4. Reinstall Filmora.

There are times when a bad installation can corrupt the Windows Installer itself. As a result, Windows Installer fails to install the desired app on your PC, and your screen displays error codes such as the Filmora installation error.

If the troubleshooting steps mentioned above are not working for you, it is probably because the file you are trying to install is corrupt. In this scenario, we suggest you clean, uninstall the old Filmora installation and reinstall it.

A clean uninstall will remove the application and its relevant processes from your PC, making room for the newer version.

Here is what you need to do:
