How to Fix Camera Zoomed In Problem on WhatsApp

Have you noticed that your camera is zoomed in when using it on WhatsApp?

WhatsApp continues to improve its platform and add new features despite its current status. Although WhatsApp is on top of the competition, it’s nice to see that WhatsApp’s team rolls out new features for their users.

While it’s fun to add filters and all sorts of effects on your status, some of them could cause issues on your device.

If you’re reading this, you probably tried using your camera to post status but found out that it’s zoomed in. This can make your story look off, and it will be difficult for you to get the object or person you want to capture in frame.

Based on what we know, this issue is mostly caused by a bug or glitch on your device. However, it can also be due to corrupted installation files, unstable features, or hardware failure.

Fortunately, you’ve come to the right place.

Today, we’ll show you what to do if your camera is zoomed in when using it on WhatsApp.

Let’s begin!

1. Restart WhatsApp.

A temporary bug or glitch may have occurred on WhatsApp, which caused it to use the wrong camera on your device. Since most phones use multiple cameras, WhatsApp may have used your secondary or macro lens.

To fix this, simply restart the app on your device to reload its resources.

2. Restart Your Device.

If restarting the app did not resolve the issue, we suggest that you restart your entire device. This should allow your system to reload its resources and eliminate temporary issues that may have caused your camera to malfunction.

Follow the steps below to restart your Android device:

  1. Locate the Power button of your Android device.
  2. After that, hold it until the options menu shows up on your display.
  3. Finally, choose Restart
Restart Android

If you’re using an iOS device, see the guide below to restart it:

  1. First, open the Assistive Touch on your display.
  2. Next, go to the Device tab and tap on More
  3. Lastly, hit Restart
Restart iOS

Once done, go back to WhatsApp and check if your camera works.

3. Clear WhatsApp Cache (Android).

For Android users, try clearing WhatsApp cache if your camera is not working correctly on the app. This should eliminate corrupted temporary data from your device.

Follow the guide below to clear WhatsApp’s cache:

  1. On your home screen, press and hold WhatsApp’s icon until the options menu appears.
  2. After that, tap on App Info and access the Storage tab.
  3. Finally, tap the Clear Cache button to complete the process.

4. Update WhatsApp.

On Android, see the guide below to update WhatsApp:

  1. First, launch the Play Store on your device.
  2. Next, go to your Profile and tap on Manage Apps & Device
  3. Access the Updates Available tab afterward and look for WhatsApp

Here’s how you can reinstall WhatsApp:

  1. First, locate WhatsApp from your home screen.
  2. Now, press and hold its app icon until the selection menu appears.
