How to Fix Clubhouse App Keeps Crashing

Can’t join rooms on the platform because the Clubhouse app keeps crashing?

After its release in 2020, Clubhouse has emerged as one of the hottest social media platforms today with a promising future. It is a drop-in audio chat application mainly used for collaborative discussion related to lifestyle, business, stocks, and more.

The platform is still in its beta phase and currently available for iOS devices only. Access to the app is also limited to users with an invite from people already on the platform.

Random errors can still occur on Clubhouse since it is not yet fully launched, and developers are still tweaking the servers. If the Clubhouse app keeps crashing on your device, its servers could be offline, or its installation files are corrupted.

Whatever the case is, we’re here to help you out.

Today, we will show you a few methods to fix the Clubhouse app if it keeps crashing on your device.

Let’s jump right in!

1. Check Clubhouse Servers.

Clubhouse is an online platform, and it depends on its servers to give user services and features. If you experience issues on the app, visit their official Twitter page to check if their servers are down or an unexpected error occurred on the platform.

Since server-related issues are mostly addressable on Clubhouse’s end, the best thing we could suggest for now is to wait until the problem is fixed.

However, you can still try the methods below to alleviate the situation if you need to use Clubhouse.

2. Force Close Background Applications.

Background applications consume system resources that can affect the performance of your device. Although the Clubhouse app does not require a lot of resources, its flow could still be affected if your device is running out of memory.

If the Clubhouse app keeps crashing, close down other applications running in the background to free up some memory.

Swipe upwards from the bottom of your display to access the application switcher. After that, flick the applications upwards to close them down. For older iOS devices, you can access the app switcher by tapping the home button twice.

Go back to Clubhouse afterward to see if the problem is solved.

3. Turn Off VPN.

Virtual private networks are third-party programs that protect your home or local network. They work by filtering the data going out of your device and changing your IP address to keep your identity private.

However, this process can affect your connection quality, and your device may struggle to communicate with application servers.

If Clubhouse keeps crashing, turn off your VPN first and try re-accessing the platform.

On the other hand, you can also use other VPNs like PureVPN if you don’t want to go online without protection. Compared to other VPNs, it doesn’t interrupt your connection and keeps it stable while providing security over your network.

4. Check and Reset Your Internet.

Network-related problems could also be why the Clubhouse app keeps crashing on your device. Since Clubhouse is an online platform, a decent network connection is needed to access its features without a problem.

To check your connection, perform a speed test using Fast.com to measure its current bandwidth.

Speed Test Using Fast.com

If your connection is running slow or unstable, restart your network router to refresh the link with your ISP’s servers. Find the power chord of your router and unplug it from the outlet. After 10 seconds, plug back in the power cable to restart your router.

Once done, re-run the speed test on your network to check if it is now running correctly. Contact your ISP if you continue to experience issues with your network.

  1. First, open the Clubhouse app on your iOS device.
  2. Next, tap on your Profile icon from the top right corner of the display.

Clubhouse’s installation files may have gotten corrupted, which causes the platform to malfunction. In this case, we recommend that you remove the app from your device and reinstall a working copy afterward.

This way, you can ensure that you have a working copy of the platform and its installation files are not corrupted.
