Is Clubhouse App Down? Server Status and How to Fix

Have a feeling that the Clubhouse server is down but don’t know what to do?

If you’ve been spending a lot of time on social media lately, you probably heard of Clubhouse. It is a new social media platform that focuses on voice chats. The platform was released in 2020 and is limited to people who other users invited to Clubhouse.

Clubhouse has been valued at over 1 billion dollars a year after its release and shows many potentials.

If you’re reading this right now, you are probably on the platform already but having a hard time using its features. Since the app is still in its beta testing, you should expect that occasional errors may occur.

Most of the time, issues on Clubhouse are server-related. Since many people want to join the platform, its servers can overload and not keep up with the requests.

Today, we’ll show you how to check the status of Clubhouse’s servers and what you should do if it is down.

Let’s get started!

1. Check Clubhouse Servers.

Given that most Clubhouse problems are server-related, it is essential to check its status whenever you encounter errors on the app. Visit their official Twitter page, where Clubhouse’s team is active in giving out updates about the platform and the issues it encountered.

Although server-related issues are only addressable on Clubhouse’s end, there are a few methods that you can do to alleviate the situation.

Proceed to the following methods below to troubleshoot the problem on Clubhouse.

2. Turn Off VPN.

Virtual private networks or VPNs are third-party applications installed on your device that protect your home or local network. They work by filtering the data going out of your device and changing your IP address to keep you safe online.

However, some VPNs are not efficient in doing this process and cause instability and interruptions on your internet connection.

If Clubhouse’s servers are already down, you don’t want other applications complicating things further. Try using Clubhouse with your VPN turned off and see if the problem goes away.

On the other hand, you can also use other VPNs like PureVPN if you don’t want to go online without protection. Compared to other VPNs, it keeps your connection reliable while preventing hackers from getting your data.

3. Re-Login to Your Account.

If you have a hard time accessing certain features on Clubhouse, your account data might have gotten corrupted when the servers go down. In this case, we recommend signing out of your account and log back in after a few minutes to refresh your user data.

Check out the steps below to sign out of your Clubhouse account:

  1. On your device, launch the Clubhouse app and tap on your Profile icon on the top right corner of your display.
  2. Next, tap the Gear icon to access the Settings tab.
  3. Finally, tap Log Out to sign out of your Clubhouse account.

Once done, allow several minutes to pass before logging back into Clubhouse.

4. Check and Reset Your Internet.

The last thing you want when Clubhouse’s servers are down is to have a poor internet connection. When application servers go down, your device may have difficulties communicating with it and cause problems.

If your network connection is unstable, it can worsen the situation and make it even harder for your device to connect with Clubhouse’s servers.

To ensure that you have a stable internet, perform a test on your network using Fast.com to measure its current speed bandwidth.

Speed Test Using Fast.com

If the test indicates that your internet connection is slow, re-establish the link with your internet service provider’s servers by restarting your network router.

Once done, re-run the test to confirm if the restart worked in fixing the issue. Contact your ISP if the problem recurred or your internet continues to run slow and ask them to address the issue.
