Can’t figure out how to fix connection issues on Uplay?
Uplay is Ubisoft’s official launcher for its games. It allows you to manage all your favorite titles like Tom Clancy, For Honor, and Assassin’s Creed in one application. This also stores your progress in the cloud for easy access.
Sadly, many users encounter connection issues on Uplay. Some have a hard time accessing their saves, and others experience problems downloading updates.

1. Check Server Status.

2. Restart Your Computer.
Whenever you encounter problems with Uplay or any app, the first thing you should do is restart your computer. This should flush your temporary cache and reload your system and app resources.
Here’s what you need to do:
- On your keyboard, press the Windows key to open the Start Menu.
- After that, access the Power Options tab.
- Finally, choose Restart to reboot your system.
Go back to Uplay afterward and see if you’ll still encounter issues.
3. Check Your Network Connections.
A slow or unstable internet connection could also be the reason for connectivity issues on Uplay. To confirm this, we suggest running a speed test using Fast.com to measure your network’s upload and download bandwidth.
If there’s an issue with your network, try restarting your modem or router to re-establish the connection with your ISP. Unplug your router’s power cable from the outlet and wait for 5 to 10 seconds before reconnecting it.

4. Close Background Applications.

5. Update Network Drivers.
Outdated network drivers could also cause connectivity issues on Uplay. If this is the case, you can try updating your drivers to the latest version to patch potential bugs and glitches.

- Click on Device Manager and expand the Network Adapters tab.

6. Update Windows.

Here’s how you can update Windows:
- On your computer, access the Start Menu and go to Windows Settings.
- After that, click on Update & Security and click on Windows Update.
- Finally, click on Check for Updates and follow the prompts.
Go back to Uplay after installing the update and see if you’ll still experience connection issues on Uplay.
7. Disable Windows Firewall.
Windows Firewall is a safety feature of Windows that controls access of applications to your network. If you are experiencing connection issues on Uplay, try disabling Windows Firewall on your computer.
See the steps below to turn off Windows Firewall:
- First, open Windows Settings and go to the Privacy & Security tab.
- After that, navigate to Windows Security > Firewall & Network Protection.
- Lastly, select a network profile and ensure that Microsoft Defender Firewall is turned off.
Head back to Uplay afterward and see if the problem is solved.
