How to Fix Downloads Not Working on Canva

Having a hard time using Canva with your downloads not working?

Being one of the largest graphics design platforms with over 4 million users, Canva makes it a point that their services are always available. Unfortunately, just like any application or website, Canva also experiences downtimes and errors within their servers.

While they try their best to minimize downtimes, problems could still arise from time to time like downloads not working on Canva.

If you cannot download your media files on Canva, keep reading because we are here to help!

Today, we are going to show you a few ways how you can fix the issue with downloads not working on Canva.

Before doing anything on your side, visit Canva’s official page and check if everything is in order with their servers.

Now, let’s head to the actual solutions!

1. Re-Login to Your Account.

Temporary errors can occur on your account while you are working on a project on Canva. In this case, functions within the web-based app might not work properly on your browser. To fix this, you can try signing out of your account then logging back in.

This way, your account data would be refreshed, and a proper connection between your browser and Canva’s servers can be re-established.

  1. First, click on your Profile Picture at the top-right corner of the screen.
  2. Now, click on the Sign Out button

  1. Finally, enter your account’s credentials once again and hit the Login button.

Once you are back on your account, go to the project that you want to download and try again to see if the problem is already fixed.

2. Turn Off VPN.

If you are using a VPN service for security, consider turning it off. While VPN services are excellent for security, it can sometimes interfere with the connection between Canva and your browser.

The reason behind this is that VPNs randomly change your IP address to hide your true identity while using the internet. Since random changes in your IP address happens, a stable connection to Canva’s servers cannot be established.

However, if you still prefer to use VPNs when browsing the internet, check out our guide about the best VPN services. You can also use the VPNs in the list if you want to watch Netflix US outside the region

3. Try A Different Browser.

Internet browsers use engines that render the code written on a website and display it on our screen. However, these engines interpret the code on a website differently from one another.

This means that a certain website like may work normally on one browser but encounter a lot of problems on other browsers that are not optimized.

If Canva is not working as it should on your default browser, try to use another one. Consider using popular browsers like Firefox, Chrome, and Opera, which are highly optimized by most web developers.

4. Check Your Internet Connection.

Since Canva is a web-based application, it requires a stable internet connection for it to work properly. If you can’t download your files on Canva, it could indicate that your internet connection is running slow or unstable.

To verify this, you can run a simple speed test using third-party sites like It is a website that is built to measure your network’s upload and download speed.

If your network is indeed slow or unstable, try to restart your router to re-establish a proper connection with your ISP (Internet Service Provider). You can do this by simply unplugging your router’s power cable from the wall outlet. Now, wait for 5 to 10 seconds before plugging back in the power cable.

After your router has restarted, perform another speed test, and see if the problem is already fixed. However, if your network problem continues, contact your ISP right away and let them know about the problem with their service.

5. Make Another Copy and Download.

As we create our projects on Canva, we tweak and configure some of its settings to our preferences. Possibly, some changes you’ve made on your current project caused the problem with downloads not working on Canva.

  2. Now, hover your cursor to the design you want to download and click on the Options button.
  3. After that, click on Make A Copy
