How to Fix Halo Infinite Stuck on Loading Map

Is Halo Infinite stuck on loading the map?

Halo Infinite had a successful launch last December 2021. But this doesn’t mean that the game did not suffer from a few hiccups. Since it was released, many players have been complaining about various issues with the game.

As Halo Infinite continues to receive updates, the issues keep piling up, which should not be the case.

Nonetheless, Halo Infinite’s team is doing its best to resolve the issues.

One issue you might face on Halo Infinite is the game getting stuck on loading the map. This occurs before entering a match, which can cause you to become AFK. This can be frustrating as it can affect your rank, and the game might pose penalties on your account.

Based on what we know, this issue is usually caused by server-related problems or slow network connections.

On the other hand, it can also be due to third-party apps, corrupted game files, or faulty hardware.

In this guide, we will show you how to fix Halo Infinite if it gets stuck on loading the amp.

Let’s get started!

1. Check Halo Infinite Servers.

When you encounter issues on Halo Infinite, it’s a good practice to check the game servers first since Halo is an online game. You can do this by using third-party sites like Downdetector, where you can view the game’s status.

If there are ongoing issues with Halo Infinite, the best thing you can do is wait. Unfortunately, server-related problems can’t be resolved on your end.

On the other hand, you can proceed to the next solution below if Halo Infinite’s servers are up and running.

2. Restart the Game.

If you notice that Halo Infinite is stuck on the loading screen, immediately close the game. This should give you enough time to reconnect and join the match without receiving penalties from the servers.

Simply close the game and wait for at least five seconds before relaunching it. This should ensure that Halo Infinite’s game files are initialized correctly.

3. Restart Your Computer.

If restarting the game wasn’t enough, you can also try restarting your entire system. There might be a temporary error on your computer, causing your storage drive to malfunction or preventing Halo from loading.

Check out the steps below to restart your PC:

  1. Click on the Windows icon on the lower-left corner of your display to open the Start Menu
  2. After that, access the Power Options tab.
  3. Finally, choose Restart

After restarting your system, try joining another match to check if the problem is solved.

4. Check Your Network Connection.

Slow or unstable network connections could also be why Halo Infinite gets stuck on loading the game map. Since the game is online, you’ll need a stable connection to avoid issues while playing.

Perform a speed test on your network using Fast.com to measure its current upload and download bandwidth.

Speed Test

If the test confirms that your network is the culprit, reboot your router or modem to re-establish the link with your ISP’s servers. Unplug your router’s power cable from the outlet and wait for 5 to 10 seconds before reconnecting it.

Restart Router

Re-run the test after restarting your router to check if the problem is solved. If not, contact your provider and ask them to fix their service.

5. Verify Your Game Files.

Corrupted or missing game files could also be the reason Halo Infinite gets stuck on loading the game map. Some of the broken files might be connected to the map for your current match, which causes it not to load.

To fix this, follow the steps below to verify your game files:

  1. First, open Steam on your computer and log in to your account.
  2. After that, go to your Library and right-click on Halo Infinite
  3. Lastly, click on Properties, access the Local Files tab, and click the Verify Integrity of Game Files button.

After scanning your game files, relaunch the game and check if the problem is solved.

6. Scan Your Drive.

We also suggest scanning your storage drive for errors if Halo Infinite gets stuck on loading the game map. Your drive could be suffering from bad sectors, or some of your system files are corrupted.

Check out the guide below to scan your storage drive:

  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows + X keys to open the Quick Menu
  2. Next, click on Command Prompt (Admin)
  3. Finally, type ‘sfc /scannow’ and hit Enter. Wait for the scan to finish.
SFC command DISM

Once done, restart your system and check if Halo Infinite still gets stuck while loading the game map.

7. Turn Off Your Antivirus.

Third-party antivirus programs are great for keeping your system free from viruses and malware. However, some antivirus gets too protective and restricts even legitimate applications on your system.

If you keep encountering issues on Halo Infinite, we suggest turning off your antivirus before playing the game.

On the other hand, you can add the game to your antivirus safelist or allowlist if it supports that feature.

8. Remove DLCs

Despite being a new title, Halo Infinite already has some DLCs on its sleeves. However, one specific DLC might be causing the game to get stuck on loading the map. If you’re using the high-res DLC pack, disable it if Halo Infinite won’t load on your computer.

See the steps below to remove DLCs on Halo Infinite:

  1. First, open Steam on your PC and go to your Library
  2. After that, right-click on Halo Infinite and choose Properties
  3. On the side menu, click on DLCs
  4. Lastly, turn off all the DLCs you’ve downloaded and restart Steam

You can remove Halo Infinite by doing the following:
