Fix: Infinite Loading Screen on Apex Legends

Keep seeing an infinite loading screen on Apex Legends?

While game developers try their best to keep games error-free, there are just chronic bugs and glitches that keep occurring in between updates. In Apex Legends, one of the most prevalent issues is the infinite loading screen.

When this occurs, it prevents players from joining any match or even launching the game.

If you encounter the infinite loading screen on Apex Legends, you’ll get stuck at the start of the game, or your match won’t load. This can be a problem as your account could receive penalties for dodging games and disconnecting from lobbies.

Unfortunately, there’s no specific reason why this issue occurs in the game.

Based on what we know, loading problems can either be caused by corrupted files, slow network connections, or third-party apps that prevent the game from accessing your storage drive.

Today, we will show you how you can troubleshoot the infinite loading screen issue on Apex Legends.

Let’s get started!

1. Check Apex Legends Servers.

One of the most common reasons you’re stuck in an infinite loading screen on Apex Legends is faulty servers. Since Apex is an online game, it relies on its servers to function correctly.

To confirm if the issue is coming from Apex Legends’ servers, you can visit the game’s help center, where they display the game’s current status.

If there’s an issue with the game, the only thing you can do is wait for Apex’s team to address the problem.

On the other hand, proceed to the next solution below to start troubleshooting the issue on your system if there’s nothing wrong with Apex Legends’ servers.

2. Restart Your System.

One of the quickest ways to fix most issues on Apex Legends is to restart your computer. Your operating system may have run into temporary issues during runtime, preventing games and applications from loading.

This should also reload Apex Legends’ application files and eliminate any temporary bugs and glitches that may have occurred.

Here’s how you can restart your computer:

  1. First, access the Start Menu on the Taskbar
  2. Next, click on the Power Options tab to open the pop-up menu.
  3. Lastly, select the Restart option to reboot your system.

After restarting your system, relaunch Apex Legends and see if the game will load.

3. Check Your Network Connection.

A slow or unstable network connection could also be the reason why you see an infinite loading screen on Apex Legends. Since Apex is an online game, a stable internet connection is required to run the game without issues.

To confirm if your network is the culprit, run a test using Fast.com to measure your network’s upload and download speed.

Test Network Connection

If there’s an issue with your connection, reboot your router or modem to refresh the link with your service provider’s servers. Unplug your router from the wall outlet and let it rest for 5 to 10 seconds before reconnecting it.

Restart Modem or Router

Perform another test after restarting your network to check if the problem is solved. Contact your ISP if your network continues to run slow and ask them to fix their service.

4. Run Apex Legends as Admin.

Your system could be blocking Apex Legends from accessing necessary resources to load the game. To rule this out, run the game as an administrator to bypass any restrictions set by Windows.

Here’s how you can run Apex Legends as an administrator:

  1. First, find Apex Legends on your desktop.
  2. After that, right-click its icon and choose Properties
  3. Lastly, go to the Compatibility tab and enable the ‘Run this Program as Administrator’ option.

5. Allow Apex Legends Through Your Firewall.

If running the game as an administrator was not enough, you should check if Apex Legends is allowed through your firewall. Windows Defender Firewall is a security feature on Windows that controls the applications that can access your network.

See the steps below to allow Apex Legends through your firewall:

  1. On your computer, open the Windows Settings and click on Update & Security
  2. After that, go to Windows Security and access the Firewall & Network Protection tab.
  3. Now, click on Allow an App Through Firewall and locate Apex Legends from the list.
  4. Finally, ensure that the game can access your Public and Private Networks

Save the changes afterward and go back to the game to check if the problem is solved.

6. Change Apex Legends Servers.

While the game automatically chooses the best server based on your location, there are instances when it selects the wrong server, causing your game to run slow.

Follow the steps below to ensure that you’re connected to the correct server for your location:

  1. First, launch Apex Legends on your computer.
  2. Next, press the TAB key on your keyboard once you’re in the main menu.
  3. Lastly, select the best server for your location. Ideally, you should choose the server with the lowest Ping and Packet Loss
