Installing FortiClient VPN.

The steps for installing the FortiClient application are pretty easy. Follow these steps. 

  1. Open the Command Terminal.
  2. Once opened, the first thing you need to do is to update the system repositories. 
$ sudo apt-get update

  1. Once your repositories are updated, you need to add the GPG key of the application. To ensure that the application you are installing is from the official source, you need to add the key signed by the application developer. Use the following command to add the key.
$ wget -O - https://repo.fortinet.com/repo/6.4/ubuntu/DEB-GPG-KEY | sudo apt-key add -

  1. After adding the application key, you must add the application repository to your system. You need to be aware of the latest version of the application you are going to install. First, check for the application version and then mention it in the command below. 
$ sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/forticlient.list<<EOF
deb [arch=amd64] https://repo.fortinet.com/repo/<version number>/ubuntu/ /bionic multiverse EOF

  1. After adding the repository, the next step is to update your Ubuntu repository again, so the added repository is reflected in the Ubuntu package system.
$ sudo apt-get update

$ sudo apt install forticlient
