How to Fix Installation Errors on BlueStacks

Want to know how you can fix installation errors on BlueStacks?

BlueStacks is one of the most popular Android emulators in the world with over 1 billion users in over 100 countries. This emulator provides a virtual environment that simulates the Android operating system, allowing you to download, install, and run Android apps.

BlueStacks’ original intent is for testing applications currently in development. However, the app turned out to be a full-time emulator that can run applications and even games.

Sadly, some users are having a hard time installing the emulator on their Windows computers. If you are here, we can assume that you are experiencing installation errors on BlueStacks.

Most of the time, this issue is caused by corrupted installation packages. However, it can also be due to improper configurations, third-party applications, slow network connections, or incompatibility issues.

To help out, we’ve decided to make a guide for fixing installation errors on BlueStacks.

Let’s get right into it!

1. Restart Your Computer.

Before changing your configurations, we suggest restarting your computer if you encounter installation errors on BlueStack. This should reload your resources and clear temporary data from the previous installation.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Access the Start Menu by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard.
  2. Next, go to the Power Options tab.
  3. Finally, click on Restart to reboot your computer.

Once done, try installing BlueStacks again to check if the problem is solved.

2. Redownload the Installer.

If you encounter installation errors on BlueStacks, we suggest downloading the installer again to be sure. There’s a good chance that the installer was not fully downloaded on your computer, causing the installation to fail.

Head to BlueStacks’ official website and download the latest version of the emulator on your computer.

3. Check Your Network Connection.

A slow or unstable internet connection could also cause installation problems on BlueStacks. Since you are downloading resources online, you’ll need a decent connection to avoid problems.

Try running a test using Fast.com to measure your network’s current bandwidth.

If the result indicates a problem with your network, power cycle your modem or router to re-establish the link with your ISP’s servers. Unplug your router from the outlet and wait for at least five seconds before plugging it back in.

Disconnect Router

Once done, wait for your router to initialize and perform another test. If you continue to suffer from network problems, contact your provider and ask them to fix their service.

4. Check System Requirements.

Emulators often use a lot of system resources since they are forcing your hardware to run applications that are not natively designed for them. Due to this, BlueStacks set a minimum system requirement for the application before you can install it.

If you are experiencing installation errors on BlueStack, it might indicate that your hardware does not meet the requirements.

Head to BlueStack’s official site to check the software’s minimum requirements.

5. Check If You Have Enough Storage.

Like any app or software, BlueStacks need some space in your storage. If you can’t install the emulator, there’s a possibility that your computer doesn’t have enough storage for the installation.

Open the File Explorer on your computer and go to This PC to check if your storage drive still has enough space for BlueStacks. Based on their website, the app needs at least 5GB of storage to install.

Consider removing unwanted apps, files, photos, and videos on your computer to save some space.

6. Update Your Graphics Drivers.

Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can also trigger installation errors on BlueStacks. Due to this, we recommend updating your GPU drivers to the latest version if you encounter issues during installation.

Here’s how you can update your drivers:

  1. Press the Windows + X keys on your keyboard to open the Quick Menu
  2. Now, open Device Manager and expand the Display Adapters tab.
  3. Right-click on your video card and choose Update Driver. Follow the prompts to continue.

Once done, restart your system and check if the problem is solved.

7. Update Windows.

You can also try updating Windows if you still encounter issues installing BlueStacks. Possibly, the version of Windows you are using is not compatible with the software, explaining why it won’t install.

See the guide below to update Windows:

  1. Go to Windows Settings by pressing the Windows + I keys on your keyboard.
  2. Next, access the Update & Security tab.
  3. Finally, click on Windows Update and click on Check for Updates. If there’s an available update, follow the prompts to install it.

Try installing BlueStacks again to check if you’ll still encounter installation errors.

8. Disable Antivirus.

If you have third-party antivirus on your computer, we suggest turning them off before installing BlueStacks. While antivirus programs are helpful in keeping your system safe from viruses and malware, they can get too protective and restrict even legitimate applications like BlueStacks.

On the other hand, you can also include BlueStacks and its installer to your antivirus’ exception list if it supports that feature.

9. Contact BlueStacks.

If none of the solutions above worked, the last thing you can do is seek assistance from the experts.

Head to BlueStacks’ support page and get in touch with their team to report the issue you’ve been experiencing during installation. When asking for help, make sure to provide crucial information like the model of your GPU and the version of Windows you’re using.
