How to Fix Progress Bar Won’t Disappear on Hulu

Can’t enjoy your favorite shows since the progress bar won’t disappear on Hulu?

Streaming services have been in demand lately due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19. Although vaccines are getting rolled out and establishments are opening up,  many people still prefer to stay at home to avoid getting infected.

Due to this, streaming apps like Hulu have seen a huge spike in their subscriber count, forcing them to improve their service and release more titles.

While Hulu is considered to be a top-rated streaming service, it is not flawless. This means that the platform can suffer from bugs and glitches and unexpected downtimes.

Recently, users have been reporting an annoying bug on the platform.

According to the reports, the progress bar on Hulu won’t disappear even if they are not scrolling through the timeline. This is an annoying issue that will get in the way of your watching experience and should be addressed right away.

Today, we will show you what to do if the progress bar won’t disappear on Hulu.

Let’s get started!

1. Restart Hulu.

Before changing anything on Hulu or your device, try restarting the app first if the progress bar won’t disappear. A temporary bug or glitch may have occurred on the app causing the window to get stuck on your screen.

Simply close the app on your device and wait for several seconds before launching it. If you are on a browser, just refresh the page and the issue should be resolved.

2. Restart Your Device.

If restarting Hulu wasn’t enough, you can try restarting your entire device. This should reload your system resources and eliminate temporary bugs and glitches on your device.

On Android:

  1. Find the Power button on your device.
  2. Press and hold the button until the options page shows up.
  3. Lastly, tap on Restart

3. Clear Your Browsing Data.

Web browsers store temporary data on your system, which are called caches and cookies. These data improve the overall performance of your browser and speed up the loading times of websites.

However, caches and cookies accumulate over time and could become corrupted. When this happens, issues could occur on your browser and the websites you visit.

See the steps below to clear your browsing data:

  1. On your browser, click on More Options and choose Settings
  2. Next, scroll down to the Privacy and Security tab and click on Clear Browsing Data
  3. Click on the Time Range tab and select All Time from the list.
  4. Include caches and cookies in the process afterward and hit the Clear Data button.

Once done, go back to Hulu to check if the problem is solved.

4. Update Hulu.

The version of Hulu you are using might have an underlying issue that causes the progress bar to get stuck while streaming. Hulu could already be aware of this problem and rolled out a patch to address it.

If this is the case, simply go to the App Store or Google Play Store and install the latest version of Hulu.

Once done, stream another show to check if the problem is solved.

5. Clear Hulu Cache (Android).

Similar to other applications, Hulu for Android stores temporary data on your device, which is used to enhance performance. However, app caches can accumulate and become corrupted without warnings.

If you encounter problems with Hulu, try clearing its app cache. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. First, locate Hulu in your app drawer.
  2. Next, hold down its app icon until the options screen shows up.
  3. Tap on App Info afterward and go to Storage & Cache
  4. Lastly, tap on Clear Cache

6. Reinstall Hulu.

Here’s how you can delete Hulu:

  1. On your home screen, locate Hulu
  2. Now, hold down its app icon to open the options menu.
  3. Finally, tap on Uninstall (Android) or Remove App (iOS).
