Do you need to reset your Gmail account password?

Gmail is one of the best email services in the world. It’s also one of the oldest services offered by Google. The platform currently has 1.5 billion registered users, and that number adds up every day.

For a service used by many people, Google has placed a lot of security measures on Gmail to ensure the safety and protection of its users.

With that said, recovering a forgotten Gmail account password should be a straightforward process, given that you have the necessary requirements. Although recovering a Gmail account is easy, Google implements strict guidelines before granting a password reset.

If you’re reading this, we can assume that you’ve forgotten your Gmail account’s password.

This is a common issue on Gmail since your account usually stays logged in unless you reset your browser or device. Due to this, many users forget their passwords after a while, particularly non-regular users.

In this guide, we’ll show you how you can reset your Gmail account password.

Let’s get started!

1. Reset Password Using Mobile Number.

One of the easiest ways to reset a forgotten Gmail password is through a verified phone number. Google sends an OTP on your registered number, and you just need to enter it on the reset page to confirm your identity.

Here’s the entire process:

  1. Using any browser, go to Gmail’s Log In page
  2. Now, provide your email address and click Next

Go back to the login page afterward and try accessing your Gmail account.

2. Use Your Recover Email.

When you sign up for a Gmail account, Google asks you for a recovery email address. This email address will be used if something goes wrong with your account or when you forget your password.

See the steps below to reset your account password using your recovery email:

  1. Using any browser, access Google’s Log In page and enter your email address or phone number.
  2. After that, click on Next

3. Answer Recovery Questions.

If you can’t access your mobile phone or recovery email at the moment, you can still reset your Gmail account password by answering security questions. These questions are set up during your account registration, and you’re the one who sets the answers.

To answer recovery questions on Gmail, see the steps below:

  1. First, follow the steps one to three in the First Recovery Method
  2. After that, hit the Try Another Way button. This should take you to the Recovery Questions page.

4. Contact Google’s Team.

At this point, the last option you can do if you still can’t reset your account’s password is to ask the experts for help.

Go to Google’s Support page and get in touch with their team to request a password reset. Provide all the information about your account, including proof that you own it, to speed up the recovery process.
