Gmail has always been focused on improving users’ experience. Due to this, Google developers keep adding more helpful features to the platform. One of the best additions to Gmail is spell check.

This feature allows you to write freely what’s on your mind without having to worry about misspelled words and incorrect grammar. With spell check, you can ensure that you’ll always send quality emails to your clients, professors, and colleagues.

Although spell check on Gmail is a very neat feature, it’s not flawless, and issues may arise anytime.

If you’re reading this, we can assume that spell check is not working on Gmail.

Usually, this issue on Gmail occurs due to improper device configurations. However, it can also be due to outdated browsers, slow network connections, or faulty app servers.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to fix spell check if it’s not working correctly on  Gmail.

Let’s begin!

Before making any changes to your account or browser, the first thing you should do when spell check is not working is to check Gmail’s servers. You can do this by visiting Google’s dedicated status page, where you can view the current situation of their services.

On the other hand, you can proceed to the next solution if there’s nothing wrong with Gmail to start troubleshooting the problem on your end.

2. Restart Your Browser.

One of the most common reasons why spell check is not working on Gmail is bugs and glitches. It’s possible that your browser ran into errors while loading Gmail, causing some features like spell check not to work.

To fix this, restart your browser to reload its resources.

Simply click the ‘X’ button on the top right corner of the window to stop your browser from running. After that, relaunch your browser and re-access your Gmail account.

  1. First, open the Start Menu on the Taskbar by pressing the Windows icon.
  2. After that, go to the Power Options tab.
