How to Fix Tinder Passport Not Working

Can’t figure out why your Tinder Passport is not working?

Tinder Passport is a premium feature available for Tinder Plus and Gold subscribers. This feature allows you to explore other cities virtually and potentially find a match in your preferred location.

Subscribed users can start using this feature by searching for a city or pinning it on the map.

Once you’ve set a location, the profiles that will show on your feed are from the area or location you selected.

While this is a neat feature, many users have complained that the service is not working correctly. This can be frustrating, especially for users paying a premium to have more control over their matches.

If you’re among these users, we’ve got you covered.

Today, we’ll show you how to fix Tinder Passport if it’s not working on your device.

Let’s jump right in!

1. Check Tinder Servers.

Down or offline servers are the most common reason Tinder Passport is not working. To confirm this, you can visit third-party sites such as Downdetector to view Tinder server’s current status.

If there’s an issue with the servers, the only thing you can do for now is wait for their team to address the problem.

On the other hand, you can head to the following solutions below to start troubleshooting the issue if Tinder’s servers are working fine.

2. Restart Your Device.

If a feature on Tinder is not working correctly, one of the first things you can do is restart your device. This should clear Tinder’s temporary files and flush your system’s cache, which eliminates temporary bugs and glitches.

For Android users, check out the steps below to restart your device:

  1. First, press and hold the Power button on your device.
  2. After that, tap the Restart option from the selection menu.
  3. Lastly, wait for your device to reboot.

3. Check Your Subscription.

Another reason why Tinder Passport is not working on your account is if your subscription has already expired. Head to your Profile > Settings, and you should be able to see the status of your account.

If your subscription has expired, renew it to continue using Tinder Passport.

On the other hand, head to the last solution below to contact Tinder’s team regarding your payment and subscription concerns.

4. Check Your Network Connection.

Slow or unstable networks could also cause the Tinder Passport not to work on your device. Since Tinder is an online app, it requires a stable internet to function correctly.

To check if your network is the culprit, run a test using Fast.com to measure your network speed.

Speed Test

If the test indicates that your connection is the problem, reboot your router to re-establish the link with your ISP’s servers. Unplug your modem or router from the outlet and wait for 5 to 10 seconds before plugging it back in.

Restart Router

Once done, perform another test to check if the problem is solved. Contact your ISP if you continue to experience network-related issues to ask for assistance.

5. Update Tinder.

The current version of Tinder you’re using may no longer be supported by the servers, or it has an underlying issue causing some features to malfunction. To rule this out, install all pending updates for Tinder on your device.

On Android devices, see the steps below to update Tinder:

  1. First, open the Google Play Store on your device.
  2. Next, tap on your Profile and access the Manage Apps & Device tab.
  3. After that, go to Updates Available and find Tinder
  4. Lastly, tap the Update button next to Tinder to install the latest version.

6. Reinstall Tinder.

Here’s what you need to do to reinstall Tinder:

  1. First, go to your home screen and locate Tinder
  2. After that, press and hold its app icon until the option menu appears.
  3. Lastly, tap on Remove App (iOS) or Uninstall (Android) to delete Tinder
