Unless if you’re Donald Trump and you want everybody to know that you’re playing golf inside the White House…
Then sharing your location on Twitter, there’s not really much of a point there.
Especially if you value your privacy and not letting every goddamn human out there know when and where you are at right now.
I’ll show you how to turn off Location Sharing on Twitter and besides …
You can always turn this back on anytime you wish. 🙂
How to Turn Off Location Sharing on Twitter: 3 Steps
You can turn it off when you tweet!
Works on iOS and Android
Here’s how:
Step 1: When you write out your tweet, there’s this blue pin-like icon (it’s right next to your Tweet button). Do you see it? Alright. Tap on it.
Step 2: Now this icon is your location sharing setting. Once you’ve selected this button you can remove your Location by tapping on Remove which is to your top left hand side corner.
Step 3: Done? Right. Now this will turn the blue pin-like icon to white which means that your location is not sharing anymore (as you can see since there’s no location under the tweet that you’re writing).
Note
This will remain turned off until and unless you turn it back on again to choose a location for any of your future tweets.
That’s it! 🙂
If you find that you are not going to ever share your location ever on Twitter then …
You can turn it off on your phone:
If you’re on iPhone
Step 1: Head over to your Settings app and then scroll down until you see your Twitter app.
Step 2: There are two Twitter apps that appear in your Settings. You want the one which is together with all of your other apps on your iPhone. Not the one which is next to Facebook, Flickr and Vimeo.
Step 3: Found it? Awesome! Now all you have to do is just change the location from While Using the app to Never.
That’s it! 🙂
Now your Twitter won’t share your location until the next time you turn this back on.
If you’re on Android
Step 1: Head over to your Settings app.
Step 2: Next under Apps, tap on Twitter from the list of all your apps.
Step 3: Lastly all you have to do is just tap Permissions and then turn your Location off.
That’s it! 🙂
Now your Twitter app won’t share your location until your turn this back on.
