2. Turn Off VPN. 

If Upwork’s servers are already having problems, the last thing you want is other applications interrupting your connection. Turn off any VPN that could be running on your device and see if the occurrence of errors is reduced. 

Since VPNs randomly change your IP address, your device may have difficulties maintaining a stable connection with Upwork’s servers.

Malware and other viruses could have infiltrated your system and negatively affects its performance. Since Upwork’s servers are already down, the situation could get even worst if viruses have infected your computer. 

To fix this, run a full system scan using Malwarebytes on your computer. Malwarebytes is antivirus software that automatically detects viruses and removes them from your system with a press of a single button. 

6. Turn Off Other Applications on Your Computer. 

If you have many applications running on your computer, it can take up a lot of your system resources. Since Upwork servers are down, any slowdowns or interruption can potentially make things worse. 

To ensure that you have enough system resources for Upwork, close down unnecessary applications on your computer. 

For Windows users, see the steps below to close unused applications: 

  1. On your keyboard, press the Windows + X keys and click on Task Manager to open it. 
  2. After that, click on the Processes tab and identify the programs that you are not using. 
  3. Lastly, click on the program and hit the End Task button to stop it from running.

  3. Finally, identify unnecessary programs and stop them from running.

7. Clear Your Browser Cache and Cookies. 

Caches and cookies are temporary data stored on your device locally to improve the performance of your browser. However, these data can accumulate and get corrupted without any warnings. 

If this happens, you can expect errors to occur on Upwork and other websites that you visit. 

To fix this, simply clear your browsing data to get rid of corrupted caches and cookies. 

  1. First, open your browser and press the CTRL + H keys on your keyboard to open the History tab. 
  2. After that, click on the Clear Browsing Data button from the side drawer. 
  3. Now, click on Time Range and select All Time from the dropdown menu. 
  4. Finally, make sure that caches and cookies are included in the process and hit the Clear Data button.

  1. First, unlock your Android device and find Upwork from your app drawer.
