How to Fix Apple Watch Storage Full Error Message

Keep seeing a ‘storage full’ error message on your Apple Watch?

Similar to any device, your Apple Watch will inform you if it doesn’t have enough storage to cater to new apps and data.

However, it can be frustrating to repeatedly get notifications of ‘storage full’ error on your watch, especially if it has plenty of free storage.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to get rid of this message on your Apple Watch.

Let’s begin!

1. Restart Your Apple Watch.

Usually, restarting your Apple Watch does the trick in solving minor issues. This allows your device to reload its resources and resolve temporary errors that may have occurred.

Restarting your watch will also flush its memory, removing corrupted app data.

Here’s how you can restart your watch:

  1. First, press and hold the Side button until the option sliders appear.

2. Update Your Watch.

Bugs and errors within watchOS could also cause the ‘storage full’ message to appear randomly.

To rule this out, see if there are available updates for your watch and install them.

See the steps below to update your watch:

  1. Launch the Apple Watch app on your paired iPhone
  2. Go to My Watch and tap on General
  3. Access the Software Update tab and see if there are available updates.

  1. Download the update. If asked, provide your passcode to continue.

Note

  • It can take several minutes to an hour for the update to complete.
  • Ensure you have at least 50% battery on your Apple Watch before updating.

Go back to your watch and check if the problem is solved.

3. Disable Siri.

This error message can also be due to Siri failing to install a language pack. When this happens, your device will repeatedly download the package, and its storage will fill up.

To resolve this problem, turn off Siri on your watch.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Open Settings on your Apple Watch.
  2. Now, scroll down and tap on Siri
  1. Disable the following options:
  • Raise to Speak
  • Hey Siri
  • Digital Crown

  1. Restart your watch to apply the changes.

Use your Apple Watch normally and see if the ‘storage full’ message would still show up.

4. Uninstall Conflicting Apps.

Not all applications are optimized for your Apple Watch. If an app on your watch misbehaves, it can consume unnecessary resources like your storage.

To avoid this, identify the recent applications you’ve installed and remove them one by one.

This way, you can identify the culprit and remove it from your Apple Watch.

Here’s how you delete an app on your watch:

  1. Press the Digital Crown button to open the main menu.
  2. Hold on to the display until the View Options menu appears.
  3. Open Edit Apps
  4. Tap the Delete icon for the app you want to remove.
