How to Fix HTTP Proxy Error on Amazon Prime

Do you see an HTTP proxy error on Amazon Prime?

The HTTP proxy error on Amazon Prime appears when you are trying to watch shows while using a VPN. While VPNs can work with Amazon Prime, not all of them are compatible with the service.

If you’re seeing an HTTP proxy error on Amazon Prime, we can safely assume that you are using some sort of VPN.

However, VPNs are not always the culprit for this error message.

In some cases, the HTTP proxy error also occurs even if you are not using any VPN. This is more annoying since you don’t know what to do on your end. You can’t disable any VPN since you don’t have one.

If this is the case, it could be an issue with your service provider, or some of your configurations are not set correctly.

To help you out, we’ve decided to make a guide for fixing the HTTP proxy error on Amazon Prime.

Let’s get started!

1. Check Amazon Prime Servers.

Before changing your configurations, it is important to check Amazon Prime’s servers first to ensure that the problem is not coming from their end. You can do this by visiting third-party sites like Downdetector, where you can check its server status.

3. Reconnect Your VPN.

When using VPNs, you’ll need to connect to a server to keep your identity private and your data safe. However, not all servers are compatible with streaming services like Amazon Prime, Netflix, and more.

Due to this, it’s important to select a VPN server that supports streaming services.

Disconnect your current VPN and try another server. Once done, go back to Amazon Prime and check if the HTTP proxy server error is solved.

4. Clear Your Browsing Data.

Corrupted browsing data could also cause the HTTP proxy server on Amazon Prime. If this is the case, we suggest clearing your browsing data to eliminate temporary errors in your browser.

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. First, open your preferred browser.
  2. After that, click on More Options and go to Settings
  3. Now, scroll down to Privacy & Security and click on Clear Browsing Data
  4. Include caches and cookies in the process and change the target Time Range to All Time
  5. Lastly, click on Clear Data to start the process.

Once done, restart your system and go back to Amazon Prime to check if the HTTP proxy error is solved.

6. Turn Off VPN.

At this point, the last option you have is to disable your VPN. Since the error message shows up mainly due to VPN services, it is best to turn it off on your device. This should keep your connection stable.

On the other hand, you can try switching to a much more reliable provider like PureVPN if you don’t want to go online without protection.

Unlike other services, PureVPN works well with most streaming services. It also uses high-speed servers to ensure that your connection is fast and reliable while protecting your device and data.

7. Contact Amazon Prime.

If none of the solutions above worked for you, the last thing you can do is let the professionals take over.

Go to Amazon Prime’s Support page and contact their team to ask for assistance regarding the issue you’ve been experiencing. Provide your account details, the platform you’re using, and other necessary information that can help Amazon Prime troubleshoot the issue.
