How to Fix Multiplayer Not Loading on Halo Infinite

Are you wondering why multiplayer mode is not loading on Halo Infinite?

Halo Infinite is a free-to-play online battle arena game developed by 343 Industries. It was published by Xbox Game Studios last December 2021 for PCs and Xbox consoles. While the game received positive reviews, this doesn’t mean that it is flawless.

Since its launch, Halo Infinite has had its fair share of issues.

Recently, users have complained about the multiplayer mode not working on Halo Infinite. This prevents them from joining matches, which is quite annoying.

Based on what we know, this issue is usually server-related. An unexpected error may have occurred on Halo Infinite’s end, or the servers are struggling to keep up with the volume of players joining.

On the other hand, it can also be due to corrupted game files.

Today, we will show you what to do if the multiplayer mode is not loading on Halo Infinite.

Let’s get right into it!

1. Check Halo’s Servers.

Since Halo Infinite is an online game, it relies on its servers to function and deliver content. If the servers are down, expect Halo Infinite to malfunction. To confirm this, you can use third-party tools like Downdetector to view the game’s status.

If there are ongoing issues on Halo Infinite, the only thing you can do is wait. Unfortunately, server-related problems can’t be resolved on your end.

On the other hand, you can head to the following solutions below to troubleshoot the issue if the servers are online.

2. Restart Your Device.

Before doing advanced measures on your device, we suggest restarting it first. This should eliminate temporary bugs and glitches that may have occurred on your system and ensure that Halo Infinite’s game files are correctly loaded.

For Windows users, here’s how you can restart your PC:

  1. On your PC, access the Start Menu by clicking on the Windows icon on the Taskbar
  2. After that, open the Power Options tab.
  3. Finally, click on Restart to reboot your system.

  2. Next, choose Restart Console
  3. Finally, hit Restart to confirm your action.

Once done, go back to Halo Infinite to check if the problem is solved.

3. Check Your Network Connection.

A slow or unstable network connection could also be why the multiplayer mode is not loading on Halo Infinite. Since you’re accessing an online feature, you’ll need a stable connection to avoid issues.

To confirm this, run a test on your network using Fast.com to measure its current upload and download bandwidth.

Speed Test

If the test indicates an issue with your network, unplug your router’s power cable from the outlet and wait for 5 to 10 seconds before reconnecting it. This should re-establish the connection with your ISP’s servers.

Restart Router

After restarting your router, perform another test to check if the problem is solved. If not, contact your service provider and ask them to address the issue.

4. Change Your DNS Server.

Your ISP’s current DNS could be experiencing technical issues, causing your connection to malfunction. If this is the case, you can switch to a different DNS service in the meantime.

Here’s how you can change your DNS on Windows:

  1. On your computer, open the Start Menu
  2. Next, look for ‘View Network Connections’ and click Open
  3. After that, right-click on your network and choose Properties
  4. From there, double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 and enable the ‘Use the Following DNS Server Addresses’ option. Input the following values:
  • Preferred DNS Server: 8.8.8.8
  • Alternate DNS Server: 8.8.4.4
  1. Finally, click OK to save the changes.

Restart your computer afterward and go back to Halo Infinite to check if the multiplayer mode is working.

5. Contact Halo Infinite.

If your network is working fine, there might be an issue with your account or Halo’s end, which prevents you from joining multiplayer matches.

Visit Halo Infinite’s Support page and submit a ticket to ask for assistance regarding the issue you’ve been experiencing. You can also browse Halo’s page and see if you can find alternative solutions.
