Can’t enjoy your favorite series because Netflix keeps skipping episodes?

If you are going to ask anyone about what movie streaming service they use, you’ll probably get Netflix as the answer. It is currently the most popular on-demand streaming service on the market, with thousands of shows in its library.

Netflix also produces original shows like Stranger Things, The Crown, The Witcher, and more.

Besides their excellent library, Netflix’s platform also offers convenient features like skipping intros, auto-playing next episodes, audio translations, and subtitles. If you spend a lot of time watching series on the platform, you probably find the auto-play feature very useful.

However, it can be a problem if Netflix keeps skipping episodes. You don’t want to miss any detail on the show you are watching, right?

For the most part, this problem is caused by an error on your device, or something’s wrong with Netflix’s servers.

Today, we will show you how to fix Netflix if it keeps skipping episodes on the show you are watching.

Let’s jump right in!

1. Check Netflix Servers.

Whenever you encounter problems on Netflix or any online platform, we suggest that you check its servers first. There are times when Netflix’s servers encounter issues and cause errors and other glitches.

Luckily, Netflix has a dedicated status page where users can check their servers’ current situation.

However, if the website is not accessible, you can also use Downdetector. It is a third-party tool that displays the status of websites and the past problems they encountered.

If Netflix is down, the best thing you can do for now is to wait until the developers get everything sorted. But we still suggest that you perform the remaining methods below and see if anything works out for you.

2. Disable Autoplay.

If the feature is not working, you should turn it off in the meantime until Netflix rolls out an update to patch the problem. To do this, you would need to access your account on a browser to change your settings.

Check out the steps below to turn off the autoplay feature:

  1. First, open Netflix using your browser.
  2. After that, hover the cursor to your Profile icon and click on Account
  3. Next, go to the Parental Controls tab and click on the Profile you are using.
  4. Find Playback Settings and click the Change button.
  5. Lastly, uncheck the ‘Autoplay Next Episode’ option and click on Save

Once done, go back to the series you are watching and see if Netflix is still skipping episodes.

3. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies.

Temporary data called caches and cookies are used by your browser to shorten websites’ loading times and improve their overall performance. However, these data can accumulate over time and get corrupted.

If this happens, some websites may not load, or you can encounter random errors.

To fix this, clear your browsing data to eliminate any corrupted cache and cookies. Check out the steps below to guide you on the process:

  1. On your browser, press the CTRL + H keys on your keyboard to access the History tab.
  2. After that, click on Clear Browsing Data from the side drawer.
  3. Next, include caches and cookies in the process and change the Time Range to All Time
  4. Finally, click the Clear Data button.

4. Run Malwarebytes.

Your device may be infected with malware or virus that consumes your system resources and causes other applications to malfunction. To check if your system is infected by malware, run a full scan using Malwarebytes

It is antivirus software that scans your device for infected files and automatically removes them with a press of a single button.

Malwarebytes also prevent viruses from infecting your system in the future.

5. Restart Your Device.

Your operating system may have suffered from a temporary bug that causes other apps on your device to malfunction. In this case, you need to restart your device to reload all its resources and eliminate any errors that may have occurred.

On Android, follow the guide below to restart your device:

  1. On your device, locate the Power button and press it until the selection menu shows up on your display.
