How to Fix Roblox Not Installing on Windows

Trying to figure out why Roblox is not installing on your Windows PC?

Roblox is a popular game development platform developed by Roblox Corporation. The platform allows you to create various games like FPS shooters, role-playing games, nonlinear gameplay, and more.

With millions of daily users, Roblox is considered one of the best platforms for aspiring game creators.

Unfortunately, you won’t get to experience all the fun if Roblox won’t install on your computer.

Based on what we know, this problem on Roblox is often caused by Windows Firewall or third-party antivirus that blocks the installer from making changes to your system. However, it can also be due to corrupted temporary data or a slow network connection.

Given the number of reasons for this issue, troubleshooting can get confusing, especially if you’re not a technical person.

Luckily, we’ve got you covered.

Today, we will show you what to do if Roblox is not installing on your Windows PC.

Let’s get started!

1. Restart Your Computer.

If Roblox failed to install on your computer the first time, you could try rebooting your system to reload your resources. There might be a temporary bug or glitch on Windows that prevents the installer from installing the packages.

Follow the steps below to restart Windows:

  1. First, press the Windows key on your keyboard to access the Start Menu
  2. After that, click on the Power Options tab.
  3. Lastly, choose Restart to reboot your system.

Once done, launch the Roblox installer and see if the problem is solved.

2. Run the Installer As Admin.

Another reason why Roblox is not installing on Windows is if the installer lacks permission to make changes to your system. To fix this, run the installer as an administrator to bypass Windows restrictions.

Here’s how you can run the Roblox installer as administrator:

  1. First, open Windows File Explorer and go to the location of Roblox’s installer.
  2. After that, right-click on the installer and choose Properties
  3. Lastly, go to Compatibility and enable the Run As Administrator option.

Proceed with the installation process to see if Roblox will install successfully on your computer.

3. Check Your Network Connection.

A slow internet connection could also be the reason why Roblox is not installing on Windows. Since you’re getting the resources from Roblox’s servers, a stable network is required to download the necessary files for the platform.

To check if your network is the culprit, run a test using Fast.com to measure your network’s current upload and download speed.

Restart your network router or modem if you’ve confirmed that the problem is with your connection to re-establish the link with your service provider’s servers. Next, unplug your router from the outlet and wait for 5 to 10 seconds before reconnecting it.

Once done, re-run the test on your network to see if you’re getting the correct speeds based on your monthly subscription. If not, contact your ISP and ask them to fix the issue with your connection.

4. Disable Your Antivirus.

Before installing Roblox, it’s recommended that you turn off your antivirus in the meantime. While antivirus software is good for keeping harmful files away, it can also get too protective and restrict legitimate apps from accessing your system.

To avoid this, simply disable your antivirus protection or add Roblox to its exception list or allowlist if it supports the feature.

5. Allow Roblox Through Your Firewall.

Windows Defender Firewall could also be the reason why you can’t install Roblox on your computer. This is a feature on Windows that controls the applications that can access your network.

If Roblox is not allowed through your firewall, it won’t be able to install the required files for the game you want to play.

See the steps below to allow Roblox through your firewall:

  1. First, open the Start Menu and look for ‘Allow an App Through Windows Firewall’.
  2. After that, open Windows Defender Firewall and look for Roblox
  3. Lastly, ensure that Roblox can access your Private and Public Networks

6. Try Using UWP Roblox.

UWP or Universal Windows Platform is a computing platform developed by Microsoft to aid developers in making universal applications for Windows 10. Fortunately, Roblox has a UWP version that you can use if the traditional app is not installing.

Simply go to the Microsoft Store on your computer and look for Roblox. After that, hit Install, and the platform should be available on your desktop in a short while.
