Greeted by an error message saying ‘We’re having trouble accessing these titles for you right now.’ on Netflix when playing movies or TV shows? 

So, you’ve come home from a long day in the office and head straight to your living room to watch a few episodes of your favorite show on Netflix. Unfortunately, you are presented with an error message upon pressing the play button. 

Now, you are caught off guard of the error and don’t know how to deal with it. 

Thankfully, you’ve come to the right place. 

Most of the time, this problem is caused by an issue with the servers, or your internet connection is unstable.  It is also possible that third-party applications interfere with Netflix or corrupted files affect your device’s performance.

Let’s jump right in!

1. Check Netflix Servers. 

Every time you encounter problems playing titles on Netflix, the first thing that we always recommend doing is to check its servers. 

Netflix is an online platform and relies on its servers to deliver its features and services. 

Visit their dedicated status page to view the platform’s current status and the issues it encountered. You can also use third-party sites like Downdetector if Netflix’s website is inaccessible.

If their servers are down, the best thing you can do for now is to wait until their team fixes the problem. On the other hand, you can also try the listed methods below and see if anything works out on your end. 

2. Re-Login to Your Netflix Account. 

Errors on your user data may have occurred when Netflix’s servers went down or when a temporary bug surfaced on the platform. You can expect all sorts of problems to happen on Netflix until the error on your account data is fixed. 

Sign out of your Netflix account and log back in after a few minutes to reload your user data. 

For iOS and Android users, you can sign out of your Netflix account by doing the following: 

  1. On your device, tap on the Netflix app to launch it. 
  2. Next, tap on your Profile icon from the top-right corner of your display.

  1. First, launch the Netflix app on your Windows PC
  2. After that, click on More Options
  3. Finally, click the Sign Out button to log out of your Netflix account.

3. Try Playing Another Title. 

The TV show or movie on Netflix that you are trying to play could be unavailable at the moment. Occasional problems occur on the platform and cause some titles to malfunction.

4. Turn Off VPN. 

Virtual private networks or VPNs are third-party applications that provide security over your network. They work by making random changes to your IP address and by filtering the data going out of your device to hide confidential information. 

However, this process makes it difficult for your device to communicate with Netflix’s servers and causes movies and TV shows not to play. 

If you are using VPNs, turn them off before playing your favorite titles on Netflix.

  3. After that, click on Clear Browsing Data from the side menu.

6. Try Another Search Browser. 

Browsers use engines to render the contents and functions of a website and display them on our screens. However, not all browsers use the same render engines, which can cause discrepancies in how browsers load various websites. 

This means that some search browsers can load a particular website without a problem, but another browser may struggle. 

If you can’t play any titles on Netflix, try switching to another browser and see if the problem goes away. Use popular browsers like Chrome, Firefox, and Opera, which use render engines optimized for most websites. 

7. Run Malwarebytes. 

If your device is not functioning, as usual, it could be infected by malware or other viruses. Your operating system may struggle to continue with its regular work process if viruses exploit all of its resources. 

To check your system, perform a full system scan using Malwarebytes. It is a third-party program that scans your device for infected files and automatically removes them with a single button press.

8. Check Your Internet Connection. 

A stable internet connection is required for Netflix to function without problems. If you see random error messages on the platform, it could indicate that your internet connection is unstable or slow.

If the test shows that your internet is unstable, restart your router. Locate the power chord of your network router and unplug it from the outlet to turn it off. After that, wait for about 10 seconds before plugging it back in to restart your router.
