Fix: Contact Photo and Posters Disabled on iOS 17

Contact posters are a valuable addition to iOS, enabling users to personalize their calling experience.

However, some users report that contact photos and posters are disabled on their iPhones.

In this article, I will guide you on resolving this issue on iOS 17. 

1. Restart Your iPhone

If certain options or features seem disabled or unavailable, restarting your iPhone might resolve the issue.

This could rectify temporary glitches affecting functionality.

Restarting iPhones with Face ID:

  1. Simultaneously press and hold the Volume Down and Side buttons until the Slide to Power Off slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider to the right, then wait for 30 seconds.
  3. Press the Side button again to power on your iPhone.

  1. Press and hold the Power button on your device.
  2. Hold the button until the Slide to Power Off prompt appears.
  3. Drag the slider to the right and wait 30 seconds before turning on your device.

2. Enable ‘Contact Photo & Poster’ Setting

If contact photos and posters aren’t appearing, they may be disabled. Follow these steps to enable them:

  1. Open the Contacts app.
  2. Select your Contact Card.
  3. Choose Contact Photo & Poster.

3. Re-Add Your Contact Photo & Poster

Should your contact photo and poster remain disabled, consider re-adding them by following these steps:

  1. Launch the Contacts app.
  2. Select your Contact Card.
  3. Navigate to Contact Photo & Poster.
  4. Swipe up on the desired poster and tap the Trash icon to delete it.

4. Check If Your Apple ID is Connected to Multiple Phone Numbers

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Navigate to Messages > Send & Receive.
  3. Select your secondary phone number.

5. Update Your iPhone to the Latest Version
