- Lastly, hit the Update button beside Twitter if an update is available.
After updating Twitter, try to like or unlike some tweets to check if the problem is solved.
4. Clear your Web and Media Storage (iOS Devices).
Your web and media storage stores temporary scripts, photos, and other media forms that improve the Twitter app’s performance. If you experience issues on your iOS device, the cached files on your web and media storage may have gotten corrupted.
To fix this, simply clear your web and media storage.
- First, open the Twitter app on your device and open its side menu.
- After that, tap on Settings and Privacy.
- Now, go to the General tab and open Data Usage.
- Tap on either Web Storage or Media Storage to open it.
- Finally, tap on Clear Web or Media Storage.
Repeat the steps above to clear both web and media storage on your iOS device.
5. Clear Your Browser Cache and Cookies.
Browsing cache and cookies are temporary data stored on your device that improves the loading times of previously visited websites like Twitter. However, if you have issues with Twitter or other sites, your caches and cookies may have gotten corrupted.
To fix this, clear your browsing data and include cached files and cookies in the process.
- First, open your browser and navigate to its History tab.
- Now, click on Clear Browsing Data from the side menu.
- After that, change the target Time Range to All Time and ensure that ‘Cached Images and Files’ and ‘Cookies and Other Site Data’ are included in the process.
- Finally, click the Clear Data button to delete your browsing data.
Go back to Twitter afterwards and try to like some tweets.
6. Disable Browsing Extensions or Try Another Browser.
If you are using browser extensions, consider turning it off if you experience issues on Twitter. While browsing extensions work well in adding extra features on some websites, they can also interfere with how other websites work.
